LINEAL NATIONAL COLLEGE FOOTBALL CHAMPIONS

This is an original research project. In some sports, rather than have a playoff or a complex balloting method, the champion is deemed to be the competitor who defeated the preceding champion, e.g., boxing. What follows are the results of a college football national championship based on this method.

[1] – The evidence for the site of the game is unclear. Newspaper evidence suggest both the 1926 and 1927 games were played at Geneva, which would suggest Geneva hosted the game annually. On the other hand, one site which previously attempted this project claims Grove City hosted the game in 1928.

[2] – Lost to non-college team, Olympic Club, in Moraga, CA on 11/7/1931.

[3] – Did not play in 1943.
